FAQs


Will Initial Impressions correct a mistake or misspelling that I made on an order?

No. Initial impressions will personalize your gift exactly as you enter it. Enter personalization text with capitol and lowercase letters as you would like it to appear on your gift.

Is there an additional charge for personalization?  How are your products priced?

Yes and no.   For some items, personalization is included in the price, and we let you know right away in the product description.  For other items, prices are calculated with a base price for the item and then based on personalization added:

Arched Engraving $2.00 per line extra charge

How do I order more than one gift with the same personalization?

To order more than one gift with the same personalization, simply change the quantity on the shopping cart and click ‘UPDATE’. Items with different personalization will need to be added to the cart individually.


How long will it take for my personalized gift to ship to me?

Engraved gift orders will ship within 2-3 business days from our Minneapolis, MN warehouse.

Personalized candles and favors will ship in 4-5 business days. Delivery times will vary depending on your proximity to Minneapolis, MN.

Most orders will be delivered within 5 business days from the day of shipping.

Weekends and holidays are excluded.

We ship orders via USPS, UPS, FedEx or Speedee Delivery Service. All orders shipping to Hawaii must be shipped via UPS 2nd Day or Next Day air service. Due to the weight and size of several items, we reserve the right to contact customers with an adjusted shipping amount when selecting Next Day or 2nd Day air shipping.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but we do not ship to any international destinations.

How will I know when my item has shipped?

We will contact you through email when your order has shipped. This will give you a tracking number and a direct link to the carriers tracking page.


Can I track my gifts?

When your item has shipped, you will receive an email with your tracking number in it and a direct link to the carriers tracking page.


Can I return a gift that has been personalized?

Initial Impressions will stand behind every product sold. Understandably, personalized gifts cannot be accepted for return. If your order has defects from the manufacturer or engraving mistakes on our part, you may return it in its original packaging and in new condition for a credit or exchange. All returns must be made within 30 days.


Can I cancel my order?

Once your order is received and processed, it is forwarded to our engraving department to start the production. Because of this, it is not always possible to cancel or change your order after it has been submitted. If you need to make changes or cancel an order, please contact us immediately to see if this is possible. Please make sure to double check the personalized text for any mistakes before submitting the order.


I made a mistake on my gifts. . . Can I get a replacement?

We understand that everyone makes mistakes (including us!), especially on spelling names, dates and even numbers. Double check your personalized gifts before submitting your order. If you did make a mistake and need a replacement, we will offer it to you with a 10% discount. If we made the mistake, we will send you the replacement at no additional charge to you.


What payment methods do you accept?

Initial Impressions currently accepts VISA, MASTERCARD and DISCOVER payments through our website. If you would prefer, you can place your order online and select the ‘CHECK’ payment option at the time of checkout. Be sure to place your order number on the memo line and mail it to:

Your order will not be started until we have received your check payment.


Do you have discounts for large quantities?

Initial Impressions offers volume discounts on orders of 100 or more of any single item. Please contact us for more information on this offer.
